National 9 Inn

The building is obviously pretty old and a few things like the mini kitchen could use a bit of TLC or an upgrade but the room itself was very clean, the kitchenette had recently been updated with new tile floor and marble countertops. The bathroom was very clean and the tub/shower roomy. There was not a lot of counter space in the bathroom but they added an actual medicine cabinet behind the mirror with plenty of room for my incidentals. I was fortunate to have a corner room so the only noise was from above but I had asked for a downstairs room so... The service was cheerful and very accommodating. I asked for an extra blanket and pillow because I have arthritis and the lady was sweet and helpful. She even gave me the only king sized pillow they had left! My husband and I own property in several vacation hot spots and we are used to 5 star villas etc.. but although this was nowhere near that kind of luxury I was not unhappy. I was quite pleased with the cleanliness and prompt & cheerful service. The rates were excellent as well.

Sharon is super friendly. Clean, spacious, mini fridge, table set, TV. Looks recently repainted. Extra parking in next lot. Smack next to 50 hwy and street, a bit of road noise. AC took 50-60 minutes to cool room down (hot weekend) to 75°F. Nails on staircase need to be screwed down more to prevent tripping, carpet removed/replaced. Electrical outlet(s) need cover to prevent furry friends from scurrying in. Check behind dresser, if open, stuff with bottom side of cup & back dresser against. Safe, good value overall.

I didn't need much from this room. A place closer to Sierra at Tahoe than my house where my girlfriend and I could sleep so we could snowboard two days in a row. The room was clean, cozy, we got upgraded to a king bedroom, the heater was strong, and it even had a mini fridge and a microwave which I didn't expect. Bed was memory foam which at first felt rock hard but that was only due to the cold. Check in was nice and easy. If you need somewhere affordable to stay near enough (about 55 minutes) from Sierra then this is a great choice, and you won't beat the price. On top of everything else, the shower was extremely high flow, super hot instantly, exactly what you need when trying to wake up and get ready for some snow sports.

Haven't stayed there yet, but Sharon was amazing placing my reservations. Very Honest about hotel and helpful and super friendly and professional. As far as people saying it wasn't worth 88 bucks, I laugh, because what are you expecting for 88 bucks a night??, especially looking at the pics of the bedding, it going to be dated and probably could use a remodel, but remodeling doesn't happen easy, especially when Karen's and Richards keep posting stupid reviews, because for some reason they think it should be Marriott quality for 88 bucks. Lol. On top of that when you have to pull permits on older buildings for remodel, you open a can of worms. Though I agree that bedding should be replaced every five or so years. It adds a mini makeover. I'm expecting something similar to motel 6. Lol. I usually don't stay at places like this , I know what to expect from rooms under 150 a night. But here for a wedding and just need a shower and decent bed and safe enough to not worry about having a bates motel experience. All hotels where sold out except here and two others that seemed creepy and not as friendly front desk staff. Lol. The fact that Sharon was so friendly and helpful and went above and beyond which usually isn't the norm for budget motels, made me feel like I was talking and experiencing a Marriott level or above care and customer service, and the extra bit of being personable and honest made my experience so far very positive and special. I'll post an update about room.

This isn't a high-end motel, but was clean and quiet. Booked 2 nights and they came and cleaned once. Booked online and check-in was easy. The only issues I had was the tub drain wouldn't close and the heater was completely off so had to warm the room up for a bit before it wasn't cold inside. Due to the restroom window being open, I had to close it and leave the door open to not feel like it was an ice box. I highly recommend for the price range!

Great Family owned small business! Clean rooms, great service and big smiles from the staff. Prices are very fair, everything is updated.

I am always wary of hotels/motels that have a number in the name. I've had a few really bad experiences. This was a nice change from that. The room was a little dated, but there was a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker in the room. The staff was super friendly. And best of all, the room was really clean and comfortable.

Beds are comfortable and the noise level from hwy 50 is low. Very convenient location if you are working in the area temporarily. There is food, fuel, and many other stores within a minutes drive. If you like Deli's, you have to try Beach hut Deli and its walking distance
